‘PM Oli’s stand on nationalism exposed’
The only thing the PM did was he got a diplomatic note written and dispatched it
Pokhara, November 24
Chairperson of Samajwadi Party-Nepal Dr Baburam Bhattarai has argued that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s response to the recent border encroachment by India has exposed his stand on nationalism.
“Be it the then king Mahendra Shah or the present executive head of the country, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, they have traded our territories with foreign powers by colluding with them,” said the SP-N leader, addressing an election gathering of the party here today.
“The only thing that the prime minister has done about the border security is getting a diplomatic note written and dispatched, that too unknown to people. What else has he done?”
Bhattarai described the major political parties, such as the ruling Nepal Communist Party and the main opposition Nepali Congress, as failures and said his own party could emerge as an alternative political force.
“How can we expect prosperity from a government which is neck deep in corruption and is protecting criminals?” he asked.
SP-N central committee Chairperson Upendra Yadav said they were struggling from both the Cabinet and the Parliament to ensure that the rights granted by the constitution to the people be implemented in practice.
“If everything fails, we’ll also launch an agitation from the street as well,” Yadav said.
Prior to the gathering at Prithvichowk, a rally of the party had started from Chipledhunga, which made a round of Mahendrapul and Naya Bazaar.
