PM reaches hometown, stays away from journalists
Biratnagar, May 13:
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala arrived in his hometown in Biratnagar today, but only to tell waiting journalists: “I do not wish to talk to you today.”
Journalists had been waiting at the PM’s residence an hour before he arrived. They kept urging him to speak on different issues. The PM, however, told them: “Come to me at 8 in the morning tomorrow. I will answer all your queries.”
Tired, worried and in a disheartened mood as he seemed to be after his arrival here from Kathmandu, he locked himself up in a room and stayed there till the evening. The PM’s caregiver Ramdip Singh said he rested the whole day.
Earlier, whenever he used to reach his hometown he used to interact with journalists in a jovial mood.
Koirala also did not summon chiefs of security bodies as he used to do earlier soon after his arrival.
Deputy Inspector General of police in the eastern region Rabindra Pratap Shah and Deputy Inspector General of police of the Armed Police Force Thakur Mohan Shrestha returned after failing to hear from the PM.
