POKHRA, MAY 4
Pokhara Metropolitan City has issued a 35-day notice to remove structures built on land allocated for a bus park at Prithvi Chowk.
The decision was taken by the metropolitan executive following concerns over long-standing encroachment. The land, designated for a bus park around five decades ago, has shrunk from 205 ropani to 47 ropani due to poor management.
Currently, more than 400 landless families are residing on the site, while buses are forced to operate from the roadside, contributing to persistent traffic congestion.
The move is part of a broader effort to reclaim encroached public land, similar to recent actions in Kathmandu.
