Pokhrel at UNESCO General Assembly
Kathmandu, November 13
Minister of Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokhrel is attending the 40th Session of the UNESCO General Conference representing Nepal.
During the Session under way at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, Pokhrel will address on issues related to Nepal’s progress in education, and inclusion covered by the SDG 4.
He will also discussion UNESCO’s assistance in Nepal and its sustainability. He is scheduled to address the session on November 16.
Pokhrel led an eight- member team comprising Education Secretary Mahesh Prasad Dahal, Nepal’s permanent representative to the UNESCO Dipak Adhikari, Assistant General Secretary at the Nepal National Commission Secretariat for the UNESCO Khaga Raj Poudel and chairperson of the Nepal Teachers’ Association Rajendra Raj Poudel to the General Assembly attended by representatives from 193 countries. The General Assembly with the theme ‘A global laboratory of ideas to future multilateral cooperation’ will run from November 12 to 27.
