CHITWAN: Police said that they confiscated and destroyed a large amount of home-brewed liquor, including its ingredients from different parts of Chitwan district over a period of 10 days.

A total of 23,550 litres liquor have been destroyed to crack down on illegal production of alcohol and  criminal activities associated with it as the May 14 and June 14 local level elections are drawing closer.

Ten police squads have been mobilised for this purpose, the Chitwan District Police Office informed.
