Police fail to nab murder suspects

Birgunj, June 28

Family members of Bhikhari Ram, who was killed about five days ago at Birgunj metropolis in Parsa have accused the police administration of not taking initiative to arrest the suspects in the murder case.

Bhikhari’s son Lal Babu complained that police did not take necessary action to search for his father’s murderers. Babu was speaking at a press meet organised in Federation of Nepali Journalist Parsa Chapter assembly hall today.

He urged police to help him search for his father’s murderers. “Already, five days have passed, but the police have not yet arrested even a single person involved in the murder,” he added. Lal Babu complained that police did not take any action as he was poor and a Dalit.

Police recovered the body of 50-year-old Bhikhari at Ghantaghar Chowk on June 25. Police also seized a scissor from the spot. Ward 8 Chair Raj Kishwor Gupta of the metropolis said it was very sad that the police had not yet arrested any person involved in the murder case. “Where were the police at the time of murder as the police were patrolling the area all the time,” he added. Gupta was puzzled why they could not get any solid lead as there were CCTVs in the area.

Meanwhile, police said they have been trying to search for the persons involved in the case.
