Police head constable dies in Morang fire
BIRATNAGAR: A police head constable from Sijuwa-1 in Morang district died of burn injuries on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ramchandra Tajpuriya (45).
Tajpuriya was rescued by his family as they noticed smoke coming out of his room this morning.
The suffocated constable was rushed to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, where he breathed his last while receiving treatment, according to the District Police Office, Morang.
The fire might have been broken out from a cigarette butt as police recovered a lighter and a cigarette butt from the room.
Tajpuriya, who was working in Ilam, had come to his home on a vacation.
Jhapa man burned to death
Meanwhile, a person from Gherabari-6 in Jhapa district died this morning in a fire incident.
The deceased has been identified as Chandra Bahadur Rumba (50).
The incident took place when Rumba was sitting around the fire at the house of a neighbour, Phulmaya Meche, according to Area Police Office, Rajgadh, Jhapa.
Rumba, who was drunk at that time, stumbled to fire and burnt to death, said Bharat KC, Chief of Area Police Office, Rajgadh.
