Police launch campaign against traffic rules violators
CHITWAN: Police have launched a campaign to take action against those drivers flouting traffic rules in Chitwan.
Started from October 28, the campaign includes punishment against drink-drive and the vehicles charging higher than normal price and plying without required documents among others.
Police claimed that the campaign has been effective with 55 drivers being punished for drink-drive and 204 vehicles being booked for breaching traffic rules.
Likewise, police have also taken under control 49 vehicles and a total of Rs 127,400 has been collected in revenue from the traffic rules violators, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Adhikari said.
Superintendent of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar said that they will take action against all traffic rule violators, irrespective of those having links with people in power and any political party leaders.
