Police rescue Kailali academics from Maoist outfit's clutches

DHANGADHI: Police said they have rescued the Lamki Multiple Campus Chief, Assistant Chief and another teacher, who were abducted by the All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary aligned with Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist.

The Maoist students had abducted Campus Chief Bhishma Thapa,  his deputy Kamal Bista and Assistant Professor Amar Bahadur Rawal yesterday.

DSP Arjun Chand said the academic trio were now under the protection of the Kailali District Police Office.

The student wing has been protesting the decision to hold the Free Student Union elections on February 25. They have been demanding that the Campus postpone the polls.
