Police seize goods-laden truck for customs evasion

RAUTAHAT: An Armed Police Force unit has taken a goods-laden truck under control on the charge of customs evasion.

The APF troop later handed over the truck (Na 1 Kha 8371) along with seized goods to Central Regional Office of the Department of Revenue Investigation in Pathalaiya of Bara for further investigation and action.

Police deployed to Pipara Bhagawanpur VDC along the Gaur-Chandranighapur road section had confiscated the truck after finding that it was transporting more goods than what were mentioned in the bills, according to SP Madan Singh Bista.

Bista lauded the role played by the APF in curbing the illegal trade in the Nepal-India bordering areas despite challenges posed by the open border.

Meanwhile, the revenue collection has gone up after the end of Madhes agitation.

If the trend continued, the revenue collection would exceed the target, said Bista.
