SINDHUPALCHOWK: A policeman died after his colleague opened fire at Thokarpa Police Post in Sindhupalchok district on Sunday night.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bishwa Adhikari, Policeman Resham Bahadur Thapa of Pulchowk VDC in the district died after Ashok Baral, a permanent resident of Sunkhani VDC in the district, opened fire on Thapa.

He informed that Thapa received bullet on his stomach.

DSP Adhikari further said that the critically injured Thapa died on the way to hospital, while his body is kept in the district headquarters, Chautara.

Police have launched a search operation to nab the wrongdoer.
