Politburo approves Khanal's report

KATHMANDU: The politburo meeting of the CPN-UML today approved the political report presented by party chairman Jhala Nath Khanal.

Addressing today’s meeting, Khanal said that he would revise his report incorporating the suggestions of the politburo members.

The meeting also formed a three-member taskforce, headed by standing committee member Bharat Mohan Adhikari, to prepare a draft proposal for resolving the national problems. Party secretary Bishnu Poudel and politburo member Raghuji Pant are the other members of the panel.

A five-member taskforce under the leadership of party general secretary Ishwor Pokharel was also formed to make correction in the party statute and give it a final touch. Secretary Bishnu Poudel, Ramchandra Jha, Prithvi Subba Gurung and Beduram Bhusal have been named the other members of the taskforce.

The UML also condemned the UCPN-Maoist’s blatant attacks on its cadres on its sixth Salyan district convention on December 7. Half a dozen UML cadres were injured in the attack.

It also condemned the attack on Tika Bista, Rukum-based journalist of the Rajdhani daily.
