JANAKPUR, MARCH 22

Former prime minister and CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal said the decision to forge an electoral alliance among the five ruling coalition parties for the upcoming civic polls depended on the Nepali Congress.

Talking to media at Janakpur Airport today, CPN-MC Chair said, " So far the five-party alliance has no differences and proposals are afloat for forging the electoral alliance, but the final decision is in the hands of the NC." He was here to address the province level political orientation of the party.

According to him, the party wished to continue with the existing alliance till the elections, but the NC's role is vital in determining the future course as remarks with different tones are coming from the NC itself. "If the NC rejects the idea of electoral alliance, we will face the election on our own strength."

Stating that there were no talks within the five-party alliance of incorporating the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, he, however, said the prime minister and the party were in touch regarding the matter. He went on to say, "Talks are under way among government coalition partners to reshuffle the Council of Ministers. But a formal decision is yet to come," the leader said hinting at the possibility of entry of some new faces as well.

He said the next session of the House of Representatives is expected to endorse the citizenship bill and the bill to operate railway service.
