District Police Office Saptari has devised a security strategy for the civic polls in the district.

Of the total 461 places, 326 have been incorporated as highly sensitive and 133 are in the sensitive list and the security strategy has been devised accordingly.

SP Anurag Dwibedi said since not a single voting centre is normal from the security perspective security plan has been designed keeping this in mind.

SP Dwibedi said that district police office was planning to deploy 4,309 security forces, including 2,033 police personnel and 2,276 temporary police personnel with equipment and arms at various voting centres in the district.

SP Dwibedi said a large number of APF and Nepali Army personnel would be deployed for security during the polls in the district.

According to District Election Officer Mahesh Kumar Thakur, Saptari has as many as 3,31,462 voters. “A total of 2,750 staffers will be deployed at 461 voting centres across the district,” Thakur said.
