Students padlocked Dhangadi Polytechnic Institute in Dhangadi Sub-metropolitan City today, saying that the sub-metropolis and the institute had failed to meet their demands. Their demands include labs, cafeteria, toilet, subject experts, and full-time teachers.
Earlier, student unions at the institute had submitted a memorandum to the college seven days ago. Students have accused the sub-metropolis and the college of playing with their future as they do not have lab for basic practicals The institute's Director Surya Bahadur Karki said that discussion was under way to open the padlock. The institute is at Jali of Dhangadi sub-metropolis. Students are deprived of practicals for lack of lab. They have to visit a market place and other schools for practicals. The institute has 100 students.
