Pooja held to ward off disease
Kavre, August 6 :
The Janachetana School at Sarsyukharka in the district organised a pooja and tantric rituals today to get rid of an unidentified disease ailing girl students since the past two months.
Nearly two dozen students of eighth, ninth and tenth grades have fallen victims to the disease. Some girl students have stopped coming to the school fearing the disease.
Earlier, we gave the students medicines to treat round worms, low blood pressure and cold, but these medicines did not help them, said school headmaster Umakant Tripathi.
The growing girls are suffering from stimulative mass hysteric syndrome, said the head of the district public health office, Ganga Ram Aryal. “There is nothing to be alarmed of because the syndrome is just a result of hermonal growth in the girls,” said Aryal.
