Power to crusher, sand washing industries cut off

Power supply to crusher and sand washing industries operating in Dhading district has been cut off.

Following complaints that crusher and sand washing industries were operating illegally by encroaching upon river banks, roads and stream, Nepal Electricity Authority stopped power supply to those industries and started an investigation.

NEA Dhading office stated that power supply to 29 crusher and 56 sand washing industries operating along the roadside of Prithvi Highway, Trishuli River, Malekhu Khola and Aagra Khola was cut off. Dhading District Level River-borne materials Monitoring and Coordination Committee decided to cut off power supply to 29 crusher industries and 56 sand washing industries. The monitoring was started after the crusher and sand washing industries defiled the river and caused a lot of harm to the locals.

Dhading CDO Shyam Prasad Bhandari said they would stop power supply to crusher and sand washing industries till the industries completed the legal processes and met the set standards.
