Prachanda meets Prez, GPK

KATHMANDU; President Dr Ram Baran Yadav today consulted opposition leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' over the delay in constitution-making process and expressed his serious dissatisfaction over the activities of the political parties.

"President expressed his concerns about the hindrances to constitution-making process," Rajendra Dahal, press advisor to the President told The Himalayan Times.

During the meeting with the opposition leader, Dr Yadav urged the political parties to be responsible by forgetting all negative feelings of the past. The President is expediting

his consultation with political leadership amidst speculations that the Constituent Assembly is unlikely to draft a new

constitution by its May 28 deadline.

According to advisor Dahal, as Prachanda is the opposition leader and chairman of the largest party in the CA, the President consulted him. Prachanda had gone to the latter's office in Shital Niwas this afternoon.

"The political parties and the leaders are competent to resolve all kinds of problems but there must be consensus among themselves," the press advisor quoted the President as saying. Following the meeting, the main opposition leader told media persons that he met the President and discussed the matters that he had discussed with Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala at the Martyr Gangalal Hospital in the morning.

Prachanda had met Koirala at the Hospital and discussed political issues, before the NC president got discharged from the hospital.

It has been reported that GPK urged Prachanda to take responsibility and Prachanda gave the NC President his words that he is 'ready to take the responsibility'.
