Recipient of Order of the Star of Italy continues diplomatic engagement
KATHMANDU, MARCH 25
Pratima Rana Pande, Honorary Consul General of Italy to Nepal, recently met Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican, marking a notable engagement in diplomatic and cultural relations.
Pande, who has contributed to strengthening Nepal-Italy ties, was earlier honoured with the Order of the Star of Italy, one of Italy's highest civilian distinctions. The award was conferred by Italian Ambassador Vincenzo de Luca at an event in Kathmandu on October 22, 2021.
The Order of the Star of Italy is one of the Italian state's highest civilian honours, awarded to individuals-both Italians abroad and foreign nationals-who have made significant contributions to promoting friendly relations, cooperation, and cultural ties with Italy.
Her meeting with the Pope reflects continued engagement at the international level, reinforcing efforts to deepen Nepal-Italy relations.
