Preparations in full swing to distribute national IDs

Preparations of the federal government to distribute national identity cards are in the final phase.

According to National Identity Card Management Centre Director General Dipak Kafle, collection of details and printing for the targeted 50,794 residents of Panchathar and 3,200 employees at Singha Durbar are going on simultaneously.

“As for cards that are ready, we’re preparing to distribute them from the prime minister’s hands at a programme in Panchthar district headquarters Phidim on November 19.

As per the government decision to start distribution of cards from Panchthar, District Administration Office, Panchathar, had started collecting details of residents about five months ago.

“Of the total eight local bodies, the first phase of detail collection is over in four local levels, while it is on in two local bodies, in two other local levels, preparations are on to mobilise teams for collecting details,” said director Shivaraj Joshi.
