Preparations for polls over in Sunsari
Sunsari, June 5
District Election Office Sunsari said that all necessary preparations for second phase of civic polls have been completed in the district.
Chief Election Officer Judge Arjun Koirala said that all preparations beginning from storing to dispatching various logistics to the polling centres have been completed.
The offices of election officers have been set up in all the 12 local levels and necessary officials have been mobilised there. “All the 485 election officers have been managed besides packing all 64 different types of logistics required for the polls,” said Koirala.
Security has been beefed up as most of the local levels lie along the Indian border in Sunsari, which has two sub-metropolitan cities, four metropolitan cities and six rural municipalities, said Police Chief SP Posh Raj Pokharel.
He urged all the public to take part in the elections fearlessly as they have managed tight security in coordination with Nepali Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.
SP Pokharel said that besides Nepali Army personnel, as many as 1,500 Nepal Police Personnel and 1,499 temporary police would be mobilised for elections in the district.
