President Bidya Devi Bhandari's India visit itinerary made public

KATHMANDU: The Minister of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday made public the itinerary of President Bidya Devi Bhandari's India visit beginning on April 17.

According to a MoFA statement issued today, the President would land in New Delhi upon the invitation of her Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee on April 17 and stay at the Rashtrapati Bhawan as a state guest.

Other programmes during the visit include:

  • Attend the reception hosted by Nepal's Ambassador to India, Deep Kumar Upadhyay

  • Attend the Ceremonial Reception and inspect a Guard of Honour at the Rashtrapati Bhavan

  • Pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and visit Yamuna Biodiversity Park

  • Pay a call on Indian President Mukherjee and attend a Banquet hosted by him

  • Receive the call from Indian Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior Cabinet members

  • Visit Gujarat and Odisha

The President will return home on April 21.

It would be the President's first foreign visit after assuming the high office in October 2015.
