KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 2

President Ramchandra Paudel departed for an official visit to Japan on Sunday to mark the 70th anniversary of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations.

The President was seen off at the VIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport by Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, ministers, chiefs of security bodies, high-level government officials, and the Japanese Ambassador to Nepal.

President Paudel is accompanied by his spouse Sabita Paudel, senior government officials, and staff from the President's office. He is scheduled to return on February 4.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Head of State is leading a Nepali delegation at the invitation of the Japanese government for the anniversary celebration. During the visit, he will attend an official function organized by the Japanese government and pay a courtesy call on the Japanese Emperor.

The visit underscores the long-standing diplomatic relationship between Nepal and Japan, which was established seven decades ago.
