KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari is visiting Lumbini today to attend a special function being held to mark the 14th establishment day of Lumbini Buddhist University.

Apart from celebrations marking the 14th anniversary, seven new buildings of the university are also being inaugurated today, Acting Vice-Chancellor Tilak Acharya was quoted in as saying in Rastriya Samachar Samiti.

Four buildings have been constructed within the premises of Lumbuni Development Trust while three others have been erected at Khadaiya near Lumbini.

On the occasion, renowned Buddhist scholars of Nepal, the former vice-chancellor of the university and former registrars will be honoured.

Also attending the function are Governor of Province 5 Uma Kant Jha, Federal Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokharel, and Federal Minister for Culture Rabindra Adhikari among others.
