Prestige battle in Kaski-2

Pokhara, November 30

An exciting election battle is in store for Kaski Constituency No 2, where CPN-UML leader Rabindra Adhikari and Nepali Congress’s Devraj are locking horns in what is billed a prestige battle.

While Adhikari is all set to scoop a hat-trick by yet another win this time, NC seems to be keen on stealing victory from the UML bastion by fielding one of its intellectuals who never got a ticket earlier against Adhikari. With election just round the corner, both candidates are busy canvassing. As the UML leader has sought a third victory pledging more development and prosperity for his constitution and the district, the NC candidate is trying to win over voters by accusing the winner of the two Constituent Assembly elections of defrauding on his promises of development and prosperity of the region.

“What has he done so far? He was supposed to do something for the prosperity of the entire district, but failed sadly on this count,” Chalise argued, urging voters to vote for him for development of the constituency, and the district.

Further, the NC candidate questioned the rationale behind letting a person run any election more than twice. “How fair is it that someone keeps running the election three, four, five times while other capable persons keep twiddling their thumbs?” he asked, arguing that he must get a chance to work for the development of his place.
