Prez kicks off FNJ convention
NEPALGUNJ: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav inaugurated the annual central general convention of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), an umbrella organisation of Nepalese journalists in Nepalgunj on Thursday.
Leaders including chairman of the Legislative Parliament Subash Chandra Nembang, vice chairperson Purna Kumari Subedi, chairman of Janaadikar forum Upendra Yadav, Nepali Congress acting president Sushil Koirala, UML chairman Jhalanath Khanal, Information and Communication Minister Shankar Pokharel participated in the programme.
Earlier on Thursday morning the FNJ had organised a morning procession which started from the local Dhamboji Chowk and passed through Gharbaritol Trivenimod, and Tribhuvanchowk, before concluding in BP Chowk.
Central representatives of FNJ from across the country, senior journalists and representatives of different local professional organisations participated in the rally.
FNJ president Dharmandra Jha said that the FNJ would consistently press the political parties and sides concerned for establishing lasting peace, forging consensus and drafting the constitution on time. He was addressing the gathering organised after the rally.
