Priest accused of sexually abusing schoolgirls in Janakpurdham

Janakpurdham, July 7

A priest in Janakpurdham sub-metropolis has been accused of sexual abuse.

Priest of Tulashi Memorial Site Shiv Shankar Das has been accused of sexual abuse of schoolgirls.

Acting priest Mahant Ram Roshan Das of Janaki temple filed a case of sexual abuse against Shiv Shankar Das at District Police Office, Dhanusha, today.

According to SP Sekhar Khanal, sexual abuse case had been registered with the police office against Shiv Shankar for sexually exploiting girl students on the pretext of giving private classes. Shiv Shankar is an Indian national from Bihar. SP Khanal said that victimised girls had reported about the incident.

After knowing about the compliant, Shiv Shankar has left the site. Police personnel have been deployed to search for the absconding priest. Janaki temple’s Acting Priest said that they had demanded arrest and immediate action against the priest.
