PM directs Mahaseth to carry out repairs on roads

Kathmandu, July 11

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today directed Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport  Raghubir Mahaseth and his Secretary Madhusudan Adhikari to build roads, sewage canals and other infrastructure across the country.

The PM showed concern about the Kalanki-Thankot and Chabhil-Boudha-Jorpati road and directed Minister Mahaseth to improve them immediately. He also directed Mahaseth to fill up ditches on the roads in other areas of Kathmandu Valley.

The PM told the minister to bring an appropriate action plan to end the syndicate system of public transportation immediately. He also directed that public vehicles be made service-friendly, reliable and technology-friendly and that senior citizens, women and differently-abled persons be facilitated for using seats reserved for them.

Minister Mahaseth told the meeting that the ditches on the roads would be managed within 50 days as per the action plan, including on the Chabhil-Boudha-Jorpati road and Kalanki-Thankot road.

The minister committed to build roads, sewage canals and other infrastructure with modern technology. “The syndicate will completely end. It will not be allowed to continue and public vehicles will be transferred to companies.
