The Election Commission has completed the printing of ballot papers for parliamentary and provincial elections scheduled for November 20.
There are 17,985,070 voters for the upcoming elections. The EC has printed almost 80 million ballot papers out of which almost 40 million will be used for first-past-the-post elections and another 40 million for elections under the proportional representation system.
According to EC bulletin, the poll panel has already dispatched PR ballot papers to all parts of the country. EC has also begun transporting FPTP ballot papers. Today, it sent FPTP ballot papers to Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Morang, and Sunsari.
The EC has completed transporting of ballot papers required for four provinces -- Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim.
According to Assistant Spokesperson for the EC Surya Prasad Aryal, the EC expects to dispatch ballot papers to all the 77 districts in the next three to four days. The EC has already sent election materials to most of the districts. A total of 246,000 employees will be deployed for poll duty. They will reach polling stations three days before the polls. The EC will conduct training for employees before deploying them across the country.
