KATHMANDU, MAY 12

Nepal Medical Association, an umbrella organisation of medical doctors, today appealed to the president to bring all the political parties together and take guardianship of the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

Issuing an appeal today it said that our health system hasn't been able to handle the current crisis. It said that the main effort today should be to control and prevent coronavirus transmission and save lives.

"Everyone should work hand-in-hand not to let the health system collapse. We need the support of all," reads the appeal. "It is necessary to unite to motivate all frontline health workers and save them.

It is necessary for all to work together to battle against the current situation," it reads.

Declaring a red alert across the country, the association appealed to all to help in breaking the chain of the infection spread. It also appealed to the public to have patience and maintain preventive health measures.
