DAMAULI: Locals resorted to obstructing the Prithvi Highway after an unidentified vehicle fled knocking down a three-year-old local girl at Jamune VDC of Tanahun district, on Tuesday afternoon.

The injured has been identified as Sangam Ranabhat.

Her kith and kin obstructed the highway since 1 pm, demanding that the absconding driver be arrested and the authorities paid her medical bills.

The girl, who was first taken to a local hospital in Damauli, has been referred to Pokhara for further treatment.

Scores of vehicles have stuck in the highway due to the obstruction.

Police said hey are making efforts to resume the traffic and trying to find out the hit-and-run driver.
