KATHMANDU, AUGUST 17
The Prithvi Highway has resumed two-way traffic after a dry landslide blocked the road at Chalise in Gajuri Rural Municipality-2, Dhading, on Monday morning.
The landslide occurred at around 5:45 am when debris suddenly fell onto the highway from the hillside above the road, completely halting traffic in both directions. Vehicles travelling to and from Kathmandu were stranded along the route.
A six-member team, including traffic police, led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Ram Sharan Basnet from the Area Police Office, Gajuri, was deployed to the site following the incident.
The road was reopened after the landslide debris was cleared in coordination with the concerned authorities. Police had earlier urged passengers and drivers to assess road conditions and follow the instructions of security personnel while travelling.
