Problems created by border blockade to be resolved soon, claims DPM Rawal

DHANGADHI: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Bhim Rawal, said that the crises caused by the border blockade including acute shortage of medicines, fuels and foods would soon be resolved as the talks had been carried on with the agitating parties.

Likewise, the demands of Madhesis and Tharu community will be met through talks, according to Rawal, also the CPN-UML Vice-Chairman.

Minister Rawal expressed his belief that the Tharus would get their demands addressed soon as their rights had been ensured with the division of seven provinces.

Rawal was talking with  mediapersons at Dhangadhi Airport, during his visit to Kailali today.

The government has been holding talks with the high level Indian officials to solve the problems evolved from the unofficial Indian border blockade, said the Minister.

He said Nepal would sign the agreement with China for importing the fuel soon. The step of government towards the agreement would not be against India, but the alternative way to stay independent in near future, he maintained.

Nepal and India have good relations since time immemorial, Rawal added, the government would resume the relation and would choose talks, dialogues and other democratic method to solve the problems.

Minister Rawal claimed landlocked countries like Nepal have rights to access up to seas on both north and south sides.
