Prohibitory order lifted in Kohalpur

Nepalgunj, December 10

Banke District Administration today lifted the prohibitory order imposed at Kohalpur when the situation had turned ugly after a school girl was seriously injured in an accident on Sunday.

Kohalpur area had become tense after Prakriti Chand of Tribhuvan Secondary School was critically injured when a truck hit her on Sunday. To bring the situation under control, DAO had clamped prohibitory order in Kohalpur area.

An all-party meeting held at the DAO last night decided to lift the order after normalcy returned to the area. An all-party meeting chaired by Chief District Officer Kumar Bahadur Khadka had inked a six-point agreement.

The agreement has different points, including a request to the Home Ministry to provide assistance for the girl’s education and livelihood, and also a request for financial assistance from the government for the treatment of all the injured.

Keeping in view the latest development, DSP Hem Bahadur Shahi of Kohalpur Area Police Office has been recalled to Banke District Police Office. Banke DSP Shiv Bahadur Singh has been deployed to replace Shahi.

Meanwhile, a goodwill rally was organised in Kohalpur today. Political cadres, leaders, teachers, students and commoners participated in the rally.
