Project relieves people

Irrigation service of the Kitaghat Project under its Forest programme for livelihood has changed the lives of the people.Under the Forest programme for livelihood, some 72 ropanies of land has been irrigated and some 21 very poor families are now self sufficient in term of food supplies and they can now feed themselves throughout the year, said an old man Chet Bahadur Kumal.

The Kitaghat area is inhibited mostly by people from Kumal community and there is no school there. "We had asked the government to establish a school in the village but nothing has been done till now," said a 40-year-old Buddhiraj Kumal, a local resident.
