BHOJPUR: A house of local Ganesh Pyakurel caught fire in Itahari Municipality-8 in Sunsari district on Tuesday evening.

The preliminary investigation point to short circuit as the cause of the blaze in Pyakurel's sitting room that occurred at around 6:00 pm, police said.

The furnitures and other valuables worth Rs 1,200,000 were gutted in the fire, police said.

The fire was contained with the help of the municipal fire brigade and police.
