GHAIGHAT, UDAYAPUR: Property worth around Rs 2.5 million were destroyed in a fire that broke out in Chaudandi Municpality-10 of Udayapur district on Sunday morning.

The fire that started from the house belonging to Ganesh Niraula in Hardiya at 10:00 am today, completely destroyed it, according to the District Police Office, Udayapur.

A large number of locals, police personnel from the District Police Office and Police Post, Hadiya, as well as fire engines from Triyuga Municipality and Chaudandi Municipality have been mobilized to douse the fire and stop it from spreading in the area, said Police Chief of Udayapur, Nabaraj Bhatta.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, Further investigation into the case is underway.
