Property worth Rs 9m gutted in Sindhupalchok blaze

CHAUTARA: A fire that engulfed two office buildings of World Vision International at Chautara of Sindhupalchok last night caused damage of around Rs 9 million.

A joint team of Nepal Army (Gorakh Bahadur Battalion), Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police with the help of fire engine from Chautara Municipality doused the fire spread in two prefabricated buildings of the organisation, which has been active in the post-earthquake recovery, said Superintendant of Police (SP) Mohan Prasad Pokharel at the District Police Office.

It was shared that the fire had damaged electronic devices, computers, and furniture.

A security guard of the office said that the fire was caused by a short circuit.

Meanwhile, investigation into the incident is underway, said police.
