‘Prosperity impossible from incumbent govt’

Pokhara, July 2

Federal Socialist Party Chairman Baburam Bhattarai today said development and prosperity were not possible from the government led by KP Sharma Oli.

Addressing a programme organised to declare the integration of Gandaki Province Committee of the then Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal and Naya Shakti Party-Nepal in Pokhara, Bhattarai flayed the incumbent government and held that the government’s slogans of development and prosperity would be limited to paper.

“The incumbent government is just selling dreams of development.

The government will leave the country in dire straits,” he stated.

Bhattarai accused the government of looting the state coffers. “Ministers and leaders are busy amassing wealth. They are free to loot the country,” Bhattarai said.

Bhattarai, who is also a former prime minister, said the Socialist Party was formed as traditional parties were not be able to unite the backward and marginalised people of mountains, hills and the Tarai. “The Socialist Party is an alternative to the old parties. We shall unite people from all three regions,” he added.

He said his party would adopt peace, prosperity, good governance and socialism as the party’s core values.

Bhattarai argued that his party would deal a serious blow to the Communists and Congress in the next general polls. “Our party will unite other like-minded parties in the days ahead and emerge as a potent force,” he said.
