Rajbiraj, May 12

Rastriya Janata Party Nepal today staged a protest rally in Saptari district headquarters Rajbiraj, saying the ruling Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Centre had failed to implement agreements reached with the party.

The rally that started from the premises of local Shiva Temple took a round of the city before it converged into a mass meet at Neta Chowk.

Speakers at the mass meet said they would not participate in the second phase of the civic polls if their demands, including statute amendment, were not addressed before the second phase civic polls.

Meanwhile, the first unity meeting of Rastriya Janata Party Parsa held in Birgunj decided to launch a stern protest if statute was not amended by May 18. The meeting condemned the ruling parties’ decision to adjourn the House till May 18.
