Province 2 candidates elected to NA unanimously

JANAKPUR: The candidates from Province 2 have been elected to National Assembly unanimously after one candidate withdrew nomination paving the way for remaining three to take up three allocated seats in the NA.

According to Chief Election Officer from Province 2, Radha Krishna Upreti, out of four candidates, Federal Socialist Forum’s Mohammad Akhtar Hussian pulled out his candidacy.

The elected candidates are Brisesh Chandra Lal from Rastriya Janata Party, Mukta Yadav from Nepali Congress, Sashikala Dahal from CPN Maoist Centre, Pramila Yadav and Ramput Paswan from Federal Socialist Forum.

Likewise, Ramesh Yadav from Rastriya Janata Party, Jitendra Dev from Nepali Congress and Suman Pyakurel from CPN-UML have been directly elected under Single Transferable Vote System.

“The final candidate list, which is to be published on Monday, will declare the aforementioned candidates as unanimously elected,” Upreti said, “Province 2 will not see vote cast.”
