Province 2 govt presents policies and programmes for upcoming fiscal

Province 2 government today presented its policies and programmes for the fiscal 2019-20 at the Provincial Assembly.

Announcing the policies and programmes of the province government, Governor Ratnesworlal Kayastha said the highway stretching from Saptari to Parsa would be named Madhesi Martyr Highway. With this, the section from Bara’s Pathalaiya to Saptari’s Rupani along the East-west Highway will be re-named Madhesi Martyr Highway.

The policies for the next fiscal will give continuity to ‘Educate Girl, Save Girl’ campaign. To make the campaign effective, daughters studying up to grade VIII will be provided Rs 500 on monthly basis. The government has set the target of providing scholarship to daughters born in poor families. The government has set the target of generating 300 megawatt solar power.  The government envisions making the province open-defecation free zone within the next fiscal.

The next fiscal year’s budget will be distributed proportionally to all 64 constituencies. The policies aim at launching Chief Minister Small Farmers’ Project to make the province self-reliant in agriculture. The government has set the target of forming Province Tourism Board, and drafting the Public Procurement Act.

All security personnel and employees required for the province will be hired by the province government in the next fiscal. The government will implement the policy of giving cards to poor families to provide them fuel at subsidised cost.
