Province 3 CM expresses grief

Province 3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudel has expressed sorrow at the human casualty and damage to property in monsoon-related disasters.

Issuing a press release last evening, the CM expressed his condolence to those who died in landslides and floods and called on the people in the province and the country to remain on high alert.

He called on security agencies, Red Cross, health facilities and other organisations concerned, to be ready for rescue operation in any event of disaster.

Meanwhile, work related to rescue and relief has started in the district.

“Floods and landslides have disrupted water supply, power and transportation, and we are doing all we can in order to restore these facilities,” said Chief District Officer Asman Tamang.

Two persons have died and a few others have been injured in incidents of flooding and landslides in the district.

While some areas are still submerged in floodwater, around 92 households in Bhimphedi have been shifted to safer places.

In the wake of the monsoon-related disasters, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Makawanpur chapter has urged its cadres to engage in relief and rescue operation. It has postponed today’s meeting in view of monsoon related disasters.
