Kavre, June 12

A team of the committee formed for the feasibility study of sites proposed for provincial headquarters in Province 3 arrived in Kavreplanchowk today and started its work.

Having completed the feasibility study of physical infrastructure in Nuwakot district yesterday, an 11-member team of the committee led by Provincial Assembly member Dipak Niraula inspected the Banepa-based Information and Technology Park, Land Management Office, Education Training Centre and vacant buildings of government offices in Dhulikhel today itself.

In September last year, District Administration Office, Kavreplanchowk, had submitted a detailed report to the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction  under the Ministry of Urban Development seeking provincial headquarters in Kavreplanchowk given the availability of required physical infrastructure and its close proximity from the country’s capital.

A total of four proposals had been submitted separately to the Provincial Assembly earlier seeking to make Kavreplanchowk, Bhaktapur, Nuwakot and Chitwan the provincial headquarters.

The committee is expected to submit its report to the Provincial Assembly on June 15.
