Province 5 MP Uttam Kumar Oli cremated

Province 5 assembly member Uttar Kumar Oli, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident three weeks ago, was cremated today. He was 34.
The final rites were conducted on the banks of the Bagarkhola River at Dangisharan Rural Municipality-6. He was elected to the Province 5 assembly from Dang constituency 3 (B).
Federal Parliament Speaker Krishna BahadurMahara, Province 5 Chief Minister ShankharPokharel, and province Speaker PurnaBahadurGharti, political leaders and cadres paid final tributes to the late leader.
The chief minister, in his message of condolence, said the untimely and unexpected demise of lawmaker Oli had caused a huge loss to the province government. He remembered Oli’s significant contribution to the development of western Dang.
Oli had been severely injured after his car and a passenger bus collided on 7 February near Chispani of Ghorahi-3. He had been admitted to Medicity Hospital in Lalitpur. According to doctors involved in his treatment, he suffered severe head and leg injuries in the accident which had an impact on his heart as well.
He is survived by his spouse and two sons. Oli’s body was brought to his home district by a helicopter on Friday.
Prior to that, the body was kept at the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) central office where Prime Minister and NCP Chair KP Sharma Oli , sitting ministers, several political leaders and cadres paid him last tributes.
