Province 6 adopts 21-point declaration

People’s representatives of Province 6 have come up with a 21-point Surkhet Declaration on the final day of the orientation programme on ‘operation and management of local bodies’ conducted by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development.

Through the declaration people’s representatives have pledged to work for the development of their respective local levels.

They pledged through the declaration to achieve economic prosperity through utilisation and mobilisation of natural resources available at the local levels .The declaration also includes the planning for promoting and preserving  tourism, religious and historical sites of the province such as Kakrebihar, Rara, Shey-Phoksundo, Pachal waterfall, Raling Gumba, Mansarovar and Sinja civilisation.

Likewise, people’s representatives have vowed to prepare a master plan for connecting the districts, municipalities and rural municipalities to the centre through highways. Similarly, the declaration also talks about the operation of mega hydropower projects.

Stress has also been laid on managing irrigation facilities, giving special priority to the ‘One District-One Identity, One Village-One Product’ programme, and promotion of local entrepreneurship and employment to improve the living standards of the people.
