Province 7 budget endorsed

Province 7 assembly today approved the budget for the fiscal 2018/19 today. The budget worth 25.6 billion was presented in the Province Assembly meeting yesterday.

Minister of Financial Affairs and Planning Jhapat Bahadur Bohora thanked all the members who participated in the budget discussion. He said questions received during the budget discussion would be addressed. “We have taken the feedback given by lawmakers positively,” he added.

Province Assembly member from the main opposition Nepali Congress Rana Bahadur Rawal said the budget was approved on condition that the government would implement the gentlemen’s agreement.

Projects to be undertaken by the national government was not included in the budget. The budget has given top priority to agriculture, tourism, infrastructure development and employment generation.

Similarly, the provincial government has also decided to provide tax waiver to new industries set up with domestic and foreign investment. Minister Bohara said the decision as taken as development of the province was not possible without industrialisation.
