Province 7 CM Bhatta gets vote of confidence from State Assembly
DHANGADHI: The Chief Minister of province 7 Trilochan Bhatta has garnered vote of confidence from the State Assembly on Tuesday.
As per the Article 24.1 of the State Assembly interim rules procedures 2018, Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta has proposed himself to elect as the CM of province 7 today.
Bhatta was elected CM of the province with majority. He garnered 38 votes out of 48 votes as four members remained absent while four cast votes against him.
Nepali Congress state members Karna Malla, Nanda Bam, Govinda Raj Bohara and Dilli Ram Panta remained absent in today's voting.
After being elected to the post, CM Bhatta said his first priority is to form laws for running state government. "Plans will be made to make this province a model to others. I will continuously put my effort for the same." Bhatta shared.
Earlier, CPN Maoist Centre state member Bir Man Chaudhary and CPN-UML lawmaker Tara Lama Tamang had supported Bhatta's proposal to CM post.
Meanwhile, NC lawmaker Rada Bahadur Rawal, UML lawmaker Purna Joshi, CPN-Maoist Centre lawmaker Akal Bahadur Rawl and Malamati Rana expressed their views during discussion on the proposal.
