Provincial laws to incorporate all sectors: CM Gurung
POKHARA: Chief Minister of Province 4, Prithvi Subba Gurung, has said that provincial laws would be formulated by incorporating all sectors on the basis of the Constitution of Nepal and international agreements.
Inaugurating an interaction jointly organised by the National Federation of the Disabled-Nepal in Kaski, and International Nepal Fellowship (INF) here today, Chief Minister Gurung stressed on effective implementation of the laws.
Suggestions would be sought from all sides in course of formulating the laws, he shared.
Similarly, Deputy Speaker Srijana Sharma opined that provincial laws would be formulated keeping in mind constructive suggestions from all sections for additional rights.
Provincial assembly member Gayatri Gurung expressed the view that Province 4 would be made a model province in implementation of federalism by guaranteeing the rights of persons living with disabilities.
Likewise, INF Cluster Manager Bishnu Giri reminded that the 2011 census had recorded 513,321 persons with disabilities in Nepal. Of them, 280,086 are male and 233,235 female.
On the occasion, Action on Disability Right and Development distributed 72 sets of mobile device worth Rs 1.4 million to 72 visually impaired people from 10 districts of Province 4, said Chairperson of the organisation, Dr Bijendra Pokharel.
