Provincial and Parliamentary elections will be held on time: Minister Thapa

POKHARA: The Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Yagya Bahadur Thapa has said that the upcoming State Assembly and House of Representatives elections would be held on stipulated date.

The Provincial and Parliamentary elections are scheduled for November 26 and December 7 respectively.

Speaking at an interaction programme ogranised by the Kaski Adarsha Sewa Samaj, Thapa said political parties are tying to forge consensus for necessary related laws in the National assembly which earlier they had failed to reach an agreement for the same.

Nepali Congress leader Thapa further said holding all levels of elections within January 21 is the utmost priority of the government for the implementation of the constitution and federalism in the country.

"Its a election year and all should actively take part in elections to institutionalise republic in the nation. With the introduction of new constitution, new Muluki Ain is in the offing, parliament has already endorsed five related bills and waiting President authentication," Thapa shared.

"The nation has already strived into the path of prosperity and all Nepalis should feel federalism and support the government for its implementation," Thapa added.

Similarly, Parliamentarian Jeevan Pariyar speaking at the same event urged the government to prevent rampant organised corruption in the nation.

He also urged the government to work accordingly so that the commoners could fell the existence of good governance in the country.
